VAR took centre stage once more as Liverpool narrowly defeated Wolves 1-0 to maintain their 13 point lead at the top of the Premier League.

Sadio Mane broke the deadlock for the hosts just before half-time, with VAR confirming the goal after the referee initially ruled it out for handball from Adam Lallana, with replays showing it hit the midfielder’s shoulder.

And the much-criticised technology came to Liverpool’s rescue shortly after, ruling out Pedro Neto’s smart finish due to a marginal offside.

Despite Wolves’ best efforts to find an equaliser, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side were ultimately powerless to break through the Reds’ resolute defence, and Jurgen Klopp’s men moved one step closer to claiming the Premier League title.
